Dolores’ Italian Tomato Sauce

Homemade Italian tomato sauce. Quick, delicious meal served over pasta.

Ingredients

  • 3 -28 oz. cans Crushed Tomatoes in puree- Italian style or plain
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
  • 3 Tbsp. dried parsley or 6 Tbsp. fresh
  • 3 Tbsp. dried basil
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • There is usually enough salt in the tomatos

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a heavy, large pot.

  2. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  3. Reduce to simmer. Simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Makes 9 ½ cups
