carmel popcorn

Ingredients

  • 8 cups popped popcorn
  • 1lb brown sugar (2 1/3 cups)
  • 3/4 c light corn syrup
  • 1/4 c molasses
  • 2 sticks butter, unsalted
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1/2 baking soda

Directions

  1. bring brown sugar, corn syrup, molasses and butter to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and add 1 t vanilla and 1 t salt. Stir. Add 1/2 t baking soda and STIR QUICKLY. Pour over 8 cups of popcorn and mix lightly. Spread out popcorn on cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Put in a 225 degree oven and bake for 1 hour + 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
