Country Scalloped Potatoes Casserole

Ingredients

  • 4 potatoes
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/2 lb. fully-cooked ham
  • 1/2 pkg. (1-oz) country-style gravy mix
  • 1/2 can (10-1/2 0z) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 c water
  • 1 c cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Peel and thinkly slice potatoes

  2. Chop onion

  3. Cut ham into 1 inch cubes

  4. Combine potatoes, onion and ham in a lightly greased stoneware

  5. Combine gravy mix, mushroom soup and water

  6. Whisk until combined

  7. Pour gravy mixture over potatoes

  8. Cover and cook on LOW 7 to 9 hours or HIGH 3 to 4 hours

  9. Top with cheese during last 30 minutes of cooking

  10. NOTE: To prevent darkening, toss sliced, uncooked potatoes in a mixture of 1 coup water and 1/2 tsp cream of tartar; drain and proceed with recipe.
