Doughnuts

Prep time: 20 minutes
Cook time: 10 minutes
Serves 10 people

Ingredients

  • 1 quart of canola oil
  • 2 cans buttermilk biscuits (not the jumbo; they will stay doughy in the middle)

Directions

  1. In a deep skillet, drop biscuits into hot oil, about 3 or 4 at a time, dropping and flipping quickly as they will brown quickly.

  2. Place on paper toweling.

  3. While still warm, cover with your choice of confection: Sugar, cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, or glaze (see also my recipe for doughnut glaze). Any of the sugars are best done by placing in a ziplok bag and shaking a few donuts at a time, but you could also place sugar in a bowl or plate.
