Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 - 8 oz bottle taco sauce
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 - 4 oz can diced green chiles
- 1 package taco seasoning mix
- 1 package (12 count) taco shells, broken into small pieces
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Chopped tomato, sour cream, quacamole (optional)
Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Spray an 11×7 inch baking dish with cooking spray.

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion until beef is browned; drain.

Stir in the taco sauce, water, chiles, and seasoning mix.

Bring to a boil

Reduce heat to low and cook, stirring occasionally, for 3-4 minutes.

Layer half of the broken taco shells on the bottom of the baking dish.

Cover with half of the meat mixture.

Sprinkle with 1 cup cheese.

Repeat with the reamaining ingredients.

Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and cheese is melted.

Top with chopped tomato, and serve with sour cream and guacamole, if desired.
