Ingredients
- 1 Cup shortening
- 3/4 cup oil (can use up to 1 cup)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 cups flour
Directions

Cream together shortening and oil.

Mix together sugars. Add eggs.

Sift flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add vanilla last.

Refrigerate overnight, up to a week.

Make small balls, flatten with a fork.

Sprinkle with sugar, nuts or whatever you choose.

Bake 12 to 15 minutes on greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees.

No frosting needed.
