Baked Macaroni and Cheese

**For tomato macaroni-add 1 ½ cups cooked tomatoes after half the macaroni is added.

Ingredients

  • 1-8 oz. pkg. Macaroni
  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • 3 Tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • salt and pepper
  • 1/2 pound grated cheese

Directions

  1. Cook macaroni in boiling, salted water, until tender. Drain and rinse.

  2. Meanwhile on the stovetop, make white sauce of butter, flour, milk and seasonings, add ⅔ of cheese, and stir until melted.

  3. Pour over macaroni in greased baking dish. Sprinkle remaining cheese over top. Bake at 325ºF for 30 minutes.
