Apple Dumplings

Ingredients

  • 1 tube refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
  • 5 medium apples, peeled, cored, and halved (or 3rds)
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • ⅔ cup water
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to350ºF.

  2. Flatten biscuits with hand. Wrap each biscuit around an apple half; place seam side down in greased baking dish.

  3. Combine sugar, water, butter, and vanilla; pour into pan. Sprinkle cinnamon over dumplings.

  4. Bake, uncovered, for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and apples are tender. Serve immediately.
