Grandma Jean’s Sweet & Sour Brisket

Ingredients
- 6 lbs. brisket (approx)
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
- 1 cup Ketchup (or Heinz chili sauce)
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 T salt

ace brisket in heavy, heated dutch oven. Sear (brown) on all sides on med flame. Add onions, garlic, and brown again, approx 10-15 min. Add remaining ingredients. Cover pot and simmer until meat is tender, about 2-1/2-3 hours. Serves 10.

Make one day ahead. Slice, put back in juices, reheat in covered dish.
