Fried Dough

Kids favorite Christmas Breakfast

Cook time: 30 minutes
Serves 6 people

Ingredients

  • Frozen bread dough
  • Crisco
  • Additional toppings:
  • confectionary sugar
  • cinnamon sugar
  • butter
  • pie filling
  • chocolate sauce
  • whatever floats you

Directions

  1. Christmas eve (or night before)

  2. Take dough out of freezer

  3. Put dough in greased pan in refridgerator

  4. Christmas morning (or day of)

  5. Take dough out of refridgerator

  6. Put dough on counter/stove (room temperature) to finish rising (1-2 hours)

  7. Place Crisco in cooking apparatus: fryer, electric fry pan, large deep skillet

  8. Heat up the Crisco, want about 2" when melted

  9. Tear pieces of dough and stretch into saucer shapes

  10. Place in the oil

  11. Cook and turn

  12. Cook and remove

  13. Place on paper towels

  14. Serve and Enjoy
