Ingredients

  • 1 cup oil
  • 3 cups uncooked rice
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 cup fresh parsley
  • 2 cups chopped onions
  • salt and pepper
  • blanched grape leaves

Directions

  1. Saute the onion in the oil and add the rest of the ingredients.

  2. Place a spoonful of filling on a grape leaf and roll up fairly tightly

  3. Place in the bottom of a pot. Continue with the rest of the filling, layering each row on top of the last

  4. Add 1 cup of water and more lemon juice

  5. Cover with a heavy dish and boil for about 1 hour
