Strawberry Cream Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 3 cups Original Bisquick
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 package (3 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons strawberry preserves
  • Sugar, if desired

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 450 degrees.

  2. Stir Bisquick, orange peel, and orange juice until soft dough forms; beat vigorously 30 seconds.

  3. Place dough on surface sprinkled with Bisquick; roll in Bisquick to coat.

  4. Shape into a ball; knead 10 times.

  5. Roll dough 1/2 inch thick.

  6. Cut with 2 1/2 inch round cutter dipped in Bisquick.

  7. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

  8. Mix cream cheese and preserves.

  9. Spoon about 1 teaspoon cream cheese mixture onto center of each dough circle.

  10. Sprinkle with sugar.

  11. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
