Autumn Brussels Sprouts

Ingredients
- 3 cups halved Brussels sprouts
- 1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1 cup chopped peeled apple
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped cooked chestnuts
- 1/2 cup vegetable broth
- salt, to taste
- pepper, to taste
Directions

Cook the Brussels sprouts in boiling water to desired doneness; drain.

In a big skillet, melt the butter over med-high heat.

Add in apples and onions; cook, stirring until softened, about 4 minutes.

Add in Brussels sprouts, chestnuts, broth, salt, and pepper; cook, stirring, until most of the broth has evaporated, about 3 minutes.

Variation—may use apple juice instead of vegetable broth.
