Butter Rich Spritz

Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter
- 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions

Sift together: 2 1/2 cups flour and 1/2 tsp salt

Cream: 1 cup butter, gradually add 1 1/4 cup sifted powdered sugar, sifted, creaming together

Blend in: 1 egg & 1/2 tsp almond extract & 1 tsp vanilla

Add wet mixture gradually to dry ingredients, mix thoroughly

Press a small amount of dough through a cookie press onto ungreased baking sheets, using any press plate to make desired shape**

Bake: 400 degrees for 6-8 minutes**

Yield: 6 1/2 dozen

Note re: adding food color Start with a few drops. You can always add. Mix in THOROUGHLY first. Then, check color. Dough must be slightly chilled after coloring. I prefer on the darker side. The green ones need to be closely watched when baking as will get too brown. Cookies should not be brown, only firm/set.
