No-knead Bread

Start dough 24 hours in advance

Prep time: 1440 minutes
Cook time: 45 minutes
Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of flour
  • 1/4 tsp of yeast
  • 1 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups of tepid water

Directions

  1. Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl.

  2. Add water and mix, incorporating most/all of the dry ingredients.

  3. Cover bowl and let dough rise for 18-24 hours.

  4. Sprinkle flour on work surface, hands, and place dough on surface. Sprinkle flour on dough as well.

  5. Knead dough 10-15 times.

  6. Cover and let rest 15-30 minutes.

  7. Add more flour to fingers and work surface and stretch dough lengthwise and fold in thirds. Repeat in opposite direction. Shape dough into a ball.

  8. Flip dough seamside down and place in a bowl, covered with cloth or on parchment paper.

  9. Let rest/rise for two more hours.

  10. Preheat Dutch oven and lid in the oven set at 460 F.

  11. Flip dough upside down (fold side up) and place on parchment paper.

  12. Place parchment paper and dough in Dutch oven and cover. Bake for 30-33 minutes. Remove lid and bake an additional 15 minutes or until nicely browned.

  13. Remove from oven and let cool on cooling rack.
