The Kerrnel’s “Fowl Pig” Chili

Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Turkey
- 1 lb Ground Sausage (or 90/10 Ground Beef)
- 2 16oz cans Red Kidney Beans
- 1 16oz can Navy Beans
- 1 28oz can Crushed Tomatoes
- 1 16oz can Diced Tomatoes
- 1 12oz can Tomato Sauce
- 1 Carrot, finely chopped
- 1 large Onion, diced
- 1 medium Green Pepper, diced
- 4 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 tbsp Worchestershire
- 1/2 tsp Thyme
- 3 tbsp Chili Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Parsley
- 1/2 tsp Coriander
- 1 tsp. Old Bay (optional)
- 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper (optional)
Directions

Brown turkey and sausage in a large frypan. Do not overcook.

Add browned meat to large crock pot or dutch oven.

Thoroughly rinse beans in a strainer, and add to meat. (Note that this will reduce the sodium content by ~40% from values listed below.)

Add canned tomatoes, vegetables, garlic, and spices to meat and beans in cooking vessel. Stir well.

IF USING DUTCH OVEN: Preheat oven to 300F, cook in oven, covered, for 6 hours. OR smoke covered in pitbarrel for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally.

IF USING CROCK POT: Set on low, cook covered for 6 hours, or overnight.
