Pretzels

Ingredients

  • 1 envelope yeast
  • 1/1/2 cups warm water 110 degrees
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 cups flour
  • coarse salt
  • butter for topping

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425.

  2. In large bowl, soften yeast

  3. Add salt, sugar and flour

  4. Mix to form a ball

  5. Place on a flowered board and knead for 5 to 10 minutes

  6. Form 16 balls

  7. Roll into an 18" rope

  8. Twist into pretzel shape.

  9. Lay on lightly greased cookie sheet

  10. Brush with butter and sprinkle on salt

  11. Bake 12 – 15 minutes

  12. Cool on rack
