Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp almond flavoring
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (I use half whole wheat pastry flour)
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
Directions

Combine sugar and butter.

Add egg and flavorings; mix thoroughly.

Stir dry ingredients together and blend in. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.

Heat over to 375.

Divide dough in half and roll out.

Cut with cookie cutter; sprinkle with sugar. 7. Place on lightly greased baking sheet.

Bake 7 to 8 minutes, or until delicately golden.

Makes 5 dozen 2 to 2 1/2 inch cookies.
