Mexican Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 sugar
  • #2
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 cup water
  • #3
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Icing
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/2 box powdered sugar
  • vanilla

Directions

  1. Mix together 1,2 then 3

  2. Bake at 400 for 20-25 minutes

  3. Prepare icing

  4. Combine butter, cocoa and milk

  5. Bring to a boil

  6. Remove from heat and add sugar and vanilla

  7. Frost cooled cake when icing has completely cooled
