Coconut Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon coconut flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon almond flavoring
  • 1 (3 1/2 ounce) can flaked coconut

Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream the margarine, shortening, and sugar.

  2. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating 2 minutes after each.

  3. Add flour alternately with milk; mix to combine.

  4. Stir in the flavorings and coconut until well mixed.

  5. Pour batter into a well greased 10-inch tube pan.

  6. Bake in a non-preheated oven at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until pick comes out clean.
