Plum and Walnut Tart

Ingredients

  • One 9 inch tart shell, partially baked.
  • 1 1/2 lb medium to large plums, ripe but still firm.
  • 4 t light brown sugar or maple syrup
  • 1/4 t ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 t caramom
  • 1/8 t ground cloves
  • grated zest of one orange
  • 2/3 c walnuts, finely ground

Directions

  1. eheat oven to 375.

  2. Slice plums into wedges 3/8 inch at center.

  3. Mix, sugar, spices and zest in small mortar.

  4. Toss with ground walnuts.

  5. Scatter 2/3 of the mix over the crust and arrange fruit over it.

  6. Top with remaining 1/3 mix.

  7. Set tart on sheet pan and bake until fruit starts to release juices, about 35 min.

  8. Remove and cool until slightly warm.
