Hazelnut-Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c hazelnuts
  • 8 T butter
  • 1/3 c brown sugar
  • 1/2 c white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 t vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 c all-purpose and ww pastry mixed
  • 1 t baking powder
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 2/3 c chocolate chips
  • confectioners' powder for dusting (optional)

Directions

  1. eheat oven to 350.

  2. Toast hazelnuts for 10 min.

  3. Let cool and rub together in towl to loosen skins.

  4. Grind up half of nuts in mill or food processor with other dry ingredients.

  5. Roughly chop remaining nuts and set aside.

  6. Cream butter, sugars.

  7. Beat in egs and vanilla.

  8. Add dry ingredients then stir in chopped nuts.

  9. Form dough into balls and bake about 15 min.

  10. Serve plain or dust with powdered sugar.
