Rose Petal Jam

(from beckyinem’s recipe box)

Ingredients

  • 4 cups sugar
  • 4 cps rose petals
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 drops red food coloring

Directions

  1. Snip off white base of rose petals and use only the top.

  2. Put in bowl and cover with sugar.

  3. Set aside for 4 hour, tossing to mix occasionally.

  4. Bring water to a boil.

  5. Add petals and other ingredients.

  6. Stir gently until sugar melts.

  7. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.

  8. Pour into small jam jars and seal tightly.

  9. When cool, tighten lid
