Ingredients
- 12 cups flour
- 1 block cake yeast
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 3 cups milk
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/2 lemon
- 4 eggs
- Honey (can be diluted with a little water)
- Finely chopped nuts combined with cinnamon and a little sugar
Directions

Combine yeast in a little lukewarm water

Heat milk to scalding and set aside to cool

When lukewarm, add orange and lemon juices and slightly beaten eggs.

Add the bubbling yeast mixture.

Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl

Pour liquid into the center and beat well about 5 minutes

Cover and let rise

Heat oil to 375 and drop balls of dough into the hot oil and brown.

Dip spoon into oil before dough so it will be easier to slide off.

Top with honey and nut mixture
