Ingredients

  • 8 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • white liquor
  • 1 pound semisweet chocolate coarsely chopped
  • 4 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 bag almonds toasted
  • 3 packages lady fingers
  • 1 pound butter

Directions

  1. In one bowl, beat butter well and gradually add 3/4 cups sugar

  2. Beat the egg yolks in another bowl, until thick enough to ribbon and gradually add 3/4 cups of sugar

  3. Beat the egg whites until stiff and add the egg yolk mixture

  4. Add vanilla and chocolate

  5. Fold in the egg whites

  6. Lay the lady fingers flat in a dish and sprinkle with the liquor

  7. Pour half of the mixture on top

  8. Repeat, adding lady fingers and mixture

  9. Sprinkle with almonds and shaved chocolate
