Fruit and Nut Swirl

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 egg, separated
  • 2 eight ounce Pillsbury Crescent Dinner Rolls
  • 1/3 cup cherry preserves
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice

Directions

  1. Lightly grease 9" pan.

  2. Combine walnuts, raisins, sugar, cinnamon and egg yolk and set aside

  3. Unroll dough into 4 long rectangles.

  4. Press perforations to seal.

  5. Spread preserves over each piece within 1" of edge.

  6. Sprinkle with walnut mixture.

  7. Start at longest side, roll up and pinch seam to seal

  8. Wind each piece into the pan, coiling towards the center

  9. Press the ends of the dough together

  10. Combine egg white and water and brush over dough

  11. Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes
