Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water 105-115 degrees
- 2 packages active dry yeast
- 4 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons lemon rind, grated
Directions

Mix warm water with dry yeast and let stand for 5 minutes.

Stir in 1 cup of flour

Cover and let stand for 30 minutes in a warm place

Beat butter until soft. Gradually add sugar and beat until fluffy

Add eggs 1 at a time, mixing completely after each addition.

Add salt and lemon rind

Sift the remaining flour and gradually beat in.

After all the flour is combined, beat for 5 more minutes. Place in large greased bowl.Cover and let rise in a warm place about 2 hours.

Punch down on floured board and roll to 1/2" thick

Cut with donut cutter.

Allow to rise uncovered for 30 minutes

Turn and brown the other side
