Brainy Almond Blueberry Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1 c. water
  • 1/4 c. steel-cut oats
  • 1/4 c. fat-free milk
  • 1 tbsp slivered almonds
  • 1/3 c. fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 tsp ground flaxseed

Directions

  1. Boil 1 cup of water over high heat.

  2. Add steel-cut oats.

  3. Cook, stirring, for 25 minutes, until the oatmeal is soft.

  4. Reduce heat to low and cook for 3 more minutes, stirring constantly.

  5. Add milk, almonds, blueberries, and flaxseed.

  6. Mix and serve.
