Chai infused oatmeal

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. milk substitute
- pinch of salt
- 1/4 tsp ground coriander
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
- 2 tsp maple syrup
- 1/8c. vanilla
- 3/4c. old fashioned rolled oats
Directions

Combine milk , a pinch of salt, coriander, cardamom, cinnamon, and turmeric in a small saucepan.

Simmer for 5 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly.

Add maple syrup, vanilla, and rolled oats; stir until combined.

Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the oatmeal is thick and creamy.

(For steel-cut oats, simply increase the non-dairy milk to 3 cups and the oats to 1 cup. Cooking time will be increased.)

Short cut: If you’re in a hurry, you can infuse your oatmeal with chai flavor by simmering the non-dairy milk with a bag of your favorite chai tea. Remove the tea bag before adding oats.
