Basil lemonade

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 cups ice
  • 3 cup water
  • 1 (7 1/2 oz) container frozen fresh lemon juice

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil over medium heat. Cook until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat. Add basil; cover and let stand 30 minutes.

  2. Fill a pitcher with ice. Strain the sugar syrup into the pitcher; discard the basil. Stir in 3 cups water and frozen lemon juice, thawed. Makes 7 cups.
