Strawberries and Cream Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg yellow cake mix with pudding
  • 1 pint strawberries, sliced
  • Whipped Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • 1 pkg (3 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 TBSP milk
  • 2 cups chilled whipping cream
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Bake cake in 2 round pans with removable bottoms. Spread one layer with 1/2 cup whipped cream cheese frosting.

  2. Top with layer of sliced strawberries.

  3. Place remaining cake layer on top.

  4. Spread thin layer of frosting on sides of cake.

  5. Place remaining froating in a decorating bag with large open star tip (#4B – Wilton’s).

  6. Pipe vertical rows on side of cake.

  7. Arrange sliced strawberries on top of cake.

  8. Refrigerate cake.

  9. Frosting:

  10. Beat cream cheese and milk in a chilled bowl on low speed til smooth.

  11. Beat in whipping cream & powdered sugar.

  12. Beat on high speed til stiff peaks form.
