Ingredients
- Pour 1 gallon of milk into a large pot
- Bring slowly to a boil, stirring constantly.
- Boil for 10 minutes or longer.
- Remove from heat and cool, stirring occasionally.
- Remove about 1 cup of milk and place in a small bowl to cool faster
- When you place a finger in the milk and can stand a count of 10, the milk is at the correct temperature to add the yeast.
- Mix 2 large spoonfuls of Yogurt with a little milk that has been cooled separately
- Stir with a wooden spoon, mixing well
- Cover for 3-4 hours with towels and blankets
- Uncover and cool for an hour before refrigerating.
- Place a paper towel on top to absorb moisture.
- For thicker yogurt, pass through coffee filters or cheesecloth
