Chocolate Buttercream Icing

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 1oz unsweetened chocolate squares, melted
  • 1 teas vanilla
  • 4 cups sifted confectioner's sugar (1 lb)
  • 3-4 tbsp milk

Directions

  1. Cream butter and shortening.

  2. Add chocolate and vanilla

  3. Gradually add sugar, beating well each time.

  4. Icing will appear dry.

  5. Add milk and beat at med speed until light and fluffy.

  6. Keep bowl covered with damp cloth when not in use.

  7. Can be stored for 2 weeks.
