Ingredients
- DRY INGREDIENTS:
- 4 cups flour
- 4 tbsp. cocoa
- 4 cups sugar
- 3 1/2 cup almonds, toasted and chopped
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp. cloves
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- rind of 1 orange
- rind of 1 lemon
- WET INGREDIENTS:
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 cup brandy (optional)
- 1/2 cup milk or more

Mix all dry ingredients well in a large bowl. Add in the rinds and mix again.

Mix together wet ingredients in a separate bowl, using a large spoon at first and then mixing with hands. Use enough milk for dough to be sticky. Mix until dough stays together.

Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients.

Put a little amount of oil in palm of hands and roll dough into 8" rolls and cut in diamond shapes or make round cookies like meatballs. Put on ungreased cookie sheets that are lightly floured.

Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes or until done. Cookies shouldn’t be bake too long as they will be hard. Frost if you wish using powdered sugar, lemon rind, vanilla, and milk.
