Pizza Dough

(from Petruse’s recipe box)

Prep time: 45 minutes
Cook time: 25 minutes
Serves 2 people

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 2 1/4 tsp of yeast
  • 2 1/4 cup of flour
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1-2 tbsp of oil
  • Seasonings

Directions

  1. Mix yeast in water and let dissolve, 5-10 minutes

  2. Rub some of the oil into a large bowl

  3. Combine dry ingredients (flour, salt, seasonings and rest of oil) in the bowl, add yeast mixture

  4. Mix with spatula until the dough is stiff

  5. Cover in bowl and let sit 30-40 minutes, until it doubles in size

  6. Pre-heat oven and pizza pan to 400 degrees

  7. On a floured work surface, shape the dough into a ball

  8. Place dough on pizza pan and roll into shape (dough will rise a few inches while baking)

  9. Place sauce and toppings on top of pizza

  10. Bake 20-30 minutes, until dough is solid and slightly brown on the bottom
