Ingredients
- 1 pkg. green split peas
- 1 can vegetable broth
- 1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped fine
- 1 grated carrot
- 1 stalk celery, chopped fine
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Ham pieces (if desired)
Directions

Add enough water to cover ingredients by at least one inch. Bring to boil and simmer for approximately 2 hours (more if the peas haven’t softened to mush). Add more water to thin soup, if necessary.
