Jewish Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 3 cups unsifted flour
  • 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 4 eggs, unbeaten
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • juce of 1 orange
  • 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 T. sugar
  • 3 t. baking powder
  • 4 large apples, sliced thin
  • 2 t. cinnamon

Directions

  1. Lightly grease angel food pan. In bowl, beat together until smooth flour, sugar, eggs, oil, salt, orange juice, vanilla and baking powder. Mix apples, cinnamon and 5 T. sugar. Layer batter, than apples, batter, apples, ending with apples. Bake in 350 oven for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
