Tomato Juice Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups seedless raisins (cooked 5 min- drained and cooled)
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 2 cups tomato juice
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup nuts if desired

Directions

  1. Alternate flour and juice. Mix well. Bake 50 minutes at 325 degrees.
