Lavender and Lemon Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon dried Lavender buds
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 1/8 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract

Directions

  1. In a food processor, or blender, grind lavender with sugar.

  2. Cream sugar with butter and powdered sugar, and add egg.

  3. Stir in lemon extract, then flour, soda, tartar and salt; blending well.

  4. Place a tablespoon of dough on a greased cookie sheet.

  5. Flatten dough with the bottom of a glass that has been dipped in sugar, and sprinkle with additional sugar.

  6. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden.
