- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup milk

- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 can cherries
- 1/2 stick butter or marg
- 1/2 teaspoon almond or vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Empty 1 can unsweetened cherries into sauce pan, with 2/3 cup sugar and 1/t teaspoon almond or vanilla flavoring. Cook 5 minutes then remove from heat and cool. When almost cool pour over batter in pan. Cook about 25 minutes or till slightly brown.

Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.

Melt butter in pan and cool slightly. Sift flour, baking powder and 1/2 cup sugar and add milk. Pour batter into Pan and spread evenly in bottom.
