Peppermint Swirl Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 bag M&M's holiday candy
  • 1 bag Milky Way Minis
  • 1 18-ounce box devil's food cake mix
  • 1 tsp peppermint extract
  • 1 16-ounce container vanilla frosting
  • 2 tbsp clear edible glitter
  • 2 8-inch round cake pans

Directions

  1. eheat oven to 350. Grease and flour cake pans.

  2. Prepare cake mix following package directions. Unwrap and chop 15 Milky Way Minis (2 cups) and fold into batter.

  3. Divide batter evenly between the 2 pans.

  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center is clean when removed. Remove from oven, transfer to wire racks and cool completely.

  5. While cake layers are cooling, stir the peppermint extract into the vanilla frosting.

  6. Spread 1/2 cup of frosting on top of cake. Place 2nd cake on top of 1st, cover cake completely with remaining frosting.

  7. Using a toothpick, make 8 equal parts on cake, decorate with green and red M&M’s, leaving white spaces between the two colors. Sprinkle edible glitter on white parts of the frosted cake.
