Sour Cream Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Crisco shortening
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs separated
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Mix flour, salt, and soda. Sift 3 times.

  2. Beat whites of eggs stiff.

  3. Cream shortening and sugar, add yolks of eggs one at a time, add vanilla.

  4. Add flour mixture and sour cream alternately at low speed.

  5. Fold in egg whites.

  6. Bake at 325 degrees at least 1 to 1 1/2 hour.
