Shadle Cake or Sheath Cake aka Texas Sheet Cake

This cake is so moist it is almost like a brownie…Yummy! Is similar to the “Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake”

Ingredients
- PART 1:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup Wesson oil
- 1 stick margarine
- 4 tablespoons cocoa

- PART 2:
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- -
- PART 3:
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- -
- ICING:
- 6 tablespoons milk
- 1 stick margarine
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup pecans chopped
Directions

PART 1: Bring water, oil, margarine and cocoa to boil.

PART 2: Pour above mixture over the flour and sugar. Mix well.

PART 3: Mix baking soda and buttermilk together. Then add eggs, cinnamon and buttermilk/baking soda mixture to batter. Mix all ingredients together.

Pour into greased and floured 12×9×2 inch pan.

Bake 25 minutes at 400 degrees.

Ice while still hot.

ICING: Combine milk, margarine, cocoa and powdered sugar in sauce pan and heat until creamy. Stir in vanilla and pecans.

Ice cake while hot.
