Ingredients
- PART 1:
- 1 package Duncan Hines yellow "butter" recipe cake mix
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 cup oil
- 4 eggs
- -
- PART 2:
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup pecans chopped
- -
- PART 3:
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Directions
-
TIP: I have discovered that this cake is better if baked in a “shiny” surfaced tube pan rather than the usual dark black finish or so many bundt pans.
-
PART 1: Combine first four ingredients in mixing bowl. Beat according to mix directions.
-
PART 2: Stir sour cream and pecans into batter.
-
PART 3: Combine brown sugar and cinnamon.
-
Pour 1/4 of batter into greased and floured 10 inch tube or bundt pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture.
-
Pour remaining batter into pan.
-
Bake in moderate oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Remove from oven and let cool 10 minutes before removing from pan.
-
Remove from pan and finish cooling on wire rack.
-
Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
