Ingredients
- Batter:
- 1/2 c oil
- 2 c sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 3 c flour, self-rising
- 3 apples, chopped
- 1 c nuts
- Filling:
- 1 stick butter
- 1 c sugar, brown
- 1/4 c milk
Directions

Batter:

Cream oil and sugar together.

Add eggs one at a time.

Add vanilla.

Add flour in portions gradually.

Batter will be stiff!

Fold in apples and nuts.

Season with cinnamon and nutmeg (optional).

Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Filling:

Bring mixture to boil then cook for 2 1/2 minutes.

Pour over cake while warm.
