Cheesy Creamy Tomato Sauce

Serves 4 people

Ingredients

  • 1 C parmesan cheese, grated (not the canned stuff)
  • 1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
  • 1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder OR 1 clove garlic
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp ground sage
  • 1 tsp parsley flakes
  • 1/2 pint heavy whipping cream

Directions

  1. In medium saucepan, combine cheese, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, and all spices

  2. Cook on medium, stirring occasionally, until cheese is completely melted

  3. Remove from heat and add cream

  4. Pour sauce into slow cooker turned on low

  5. Leave the lid off and allow to reduce for 20 minutes

  6. Put the lid on and cook on low for an additional 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
