Ingredients

• 1 18 1/4-oz. box yellow cake mix
• 3 cups tart apples, peeled and sliced
• 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
• 1/4 cup sugar
• 1 t. cinnamon
• 1 cup whipping cream
• Additional whipping cream or ice cream

Directions

1. Prepare cake batter according to package directions; pour into a greased 13×9 baking dish. Combine apples, walnuts, sugar and cinnamon; spoon over batter. Pour cream over the top.

2. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.

3. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream if desired.
