Cheery cherry cookies

Ingredients

  • 1roll pillsbury refrigerated cookies
  • 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • ICING
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1tab shortening

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350

  2. In large bowl break up cookie dough. Stir or knead cherries. Cover, freeze dough for 30 mins.

  3. Shape dough into balls, using 1 teas. Dough for each, and roll in sugar, place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

  4. Bake 9 to 12 minutes or until set and edges are light brown. Cool 1 min. Remove from cookie sheet and place on wire racks. Cool about 10 mins.

  5. In small microwaveable bowl, microwave chocolate chips and shortening on high 1 min, stirring once halfway through microwaving, unil melted, stirring until smooth. Drizzle icing over cooled cookies.
