Ingredients

  • One box Filo dough
  • 2 cups walnuts cut very small
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar melted butter
  • whole cloves
  • 3cups sugar
  • 3cups water
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice

Directions

  1. In a 9×13 layer foil dough with cinnamon nut sugar mixture. Then spread with butter. Keep layering. End with 3 plain sheets of filo brush with butter. Cut first lengthwise1 1/2inch wide. Make diagonal cut to secure diamond shape pastry. Each with a clove.

  2. Bake 30 min at 350 until golden brown. Now make syrup—- combine sugar and water bring to a boil 15min and slightly thick add honey and lemon juice, pour over baked baklava.

  3. Personal Notes: More sugar than any one needs.
