Ginger Snap Cookies

Ingredients
- 2 c flour
- 1 T ginger (or more)
- 2 t baking soda
- 1 t ground cinnamon
- 1/2 t salt
- 3/4 c shortening
- 1 c sugar
- 1 t cloves (or more)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c dark molasses
- 1/3 c cinamon sugar (1/2 c sugar to 1 T cinnamon)
Directions

Sift flour, ginger, baking soda, & salt into bowl.

Stir until even.

Sift again.

In new bowl, beat shortening until creamy.

Gradually beat in white sugar.

Beat in egg and molasses.

Sift 1/3 of flour mix into shortening mix.

Stir thoroughly.

Sift in remaining flour.

mix until soft dough forms.

Pinch off small amounts and roll into 1 inch balls.

Roll each ball in cinnamon and sugar mix.

Place 2 inches apart on baking sheet.

Bake until round and slightly cracked.
